Description

This was taken INSIDE the Disney Castle.

Low and behold Tokyo Disney Land was allowing cosplayers for ONE DAY during this Halloween season to use the park for open photography so of course my friends and I jumped on the chance to do it. It set us all back about 120$ but it was so worth it (gosh darn park is super expensive to get into plus food and train fare....) But hey its Disney right?

The rules on costumes is so strict normally, no costumes, no masks, no face paint ,ect but this is the one day we could break all the rules.

This is my Aurora dress that I made last year (its been sitting in the closet for a whole year waiting for a chance like this) I was so happy i finally got a chance to wear it for decent photos. While I was in the park many people asked for my photo and many children came up to me wanting to shake my hand or pose for pictures. It was sooooooo cute! One little girl clung to be skirt for dear life smiling because she thought I was the real princess! Her mom had to peel her off of me =P We had to explain to the people that we were not actors and cosplayers. I think this really impressed them because they asked is how we made our costumes and were very curious where we came from and how long it took to make the costumes. I am glad we had a chance to make a good impression on everyone. Unfortunatly towards to end it was really hard to escape the park without people stopping us for photos so we did have to refuse some at the end just so we could go and change =( I felt bad saying no but it was pretty hot this day and really wanted to take my costume off for a break and go play!

About my costume: It took me 2-3 weeks to make use a SIMPLICITY disney dress pattern. I altered the pattern at the chest and waist to make it sleeping beauty. (the pattern was for cinderella) Total I used about 6 yards shimmer Casa Satin and 4 yards white taffeta for the under skirt and about 1 yard white cotton for the bodice lining.
All the jems and stones were glued on, the old at the front shoulders was fabric paint. I wanted to put appliques there but i could not find any big enough or the right color for it so I went with hand filigree.
